Another Bright Idea

About a month ago HomeDepot gave away a million CFL bulbs to consumers (Link). Well, Yahoo is jumping in on the CFL bulb giveaway train. From now until June 8 you can get in on the action.

To get a free bulb you need to complete any of the three quick activities on their page... I chose "Raise your Hand" and learned that I already save the world 11 tons of CO2/year! I was also reminded of some quick and easy things I could do to save even more.. like air drying my clothes instead of using the dryer (there's nothing like a stiff pair of partially sun-bleached blue jeans).

So far Yahoo has given away around 10,275 bulbs. The fine print says they are only giving away 150,000 of them, but my gut says they will increase that number by a few thousand if need be.

Here's the link.. Be a Better Planet

By the way, the greenest city wins a fleet of hybrid taxis.

Great article. I made the pledge. Though I already try to think/live green, I learned a lot of things I can still do. Thanks.
