Well it's out.. at least 4 days early. Each page of the new "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" book has been photographed and put together in a file to be downloaded illegally. Supposedly the publisher spent $20 million to keep the book a secret.. oops. Just makes me wonder how much the government spends on their secrets? Sure hope it's a whole lot more than $20 mil.
Feel like putting your neck on the line by downloading a copy? Don't look here you're going to have to head on over to the pirate bay.

If it was $20million I'd say it was well spent. It effectively DID keep the book a secret until it didn't matter any more. Having a lousy PDF available 4 days before the actual book would have had zero impact on the publishers in terms of book sales and 'hype' factor whereas having the book leaked months ago could very well have led to reduced sales and certainly would have lessened the effect of the hype machine.
In fact I'm so cynical it wouldn't be too difficult to get me to believe that the publishers themselves released the PDF version at the last moment as part of their build-up.
